Interaction with Dr. Bert van Walbeek on Hospitality Industry

An interaction program was held with Dr. Bert “Bow-Thai” van Walbeek who has been a Hotelier for 45 years and Marketer of Tourism for 35 years, a Motivator and a Master of Disaster Management since 25 years and a lecturer for 15 years. 
The program was scheduled for Grade 11 and 12 Hotel Management students as a part of their Extra-curricular Activity (ECA) of the month. Dr. Bert who is also known for his motivational speeches on career and life, focused on developing career goals and ways to get success in the field of hospitality industry. 
Dr. Bert shared his lived-experiences of his student life to establishing his career. After completing the Hotel school in The Hague, the first part of his career was accomplished in Europe working in operational, later sales, and then marketing positions in Hilton, Inter-Continental, Canadian Pacific and Sheraton Hotels around Europe. The second part started with his arrival in Thailand in 1985, where he spearheaded the successful marketing efforts to re-position the Royal Orchid Sheraton. He also became a member of the Marketing Committee of TICA (Thailand Incentive & Convention Association), and was the Founder and first President of the Thailand Chapter of SITE (Society of Incentive Travel Executives). Currently, he is the Managing Director of The Winning Edge.
Mr. B B Chhetri, Lecturer & Author of Hotel Management introduced DrBert and Mr. Binayak Rana, Program Coordinator of Mid-Valley Int'l College who are an affiliate of Help University, Malaysia to the students.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Choudhary, the Program Director and Mr. Ganesh Datt Bhatt, the Program Coordinator - Management gave away the Token of Love to the guest, Dr. Bert.
