Overview:

This is to notify all the students that the Multimedia Division, IT Club of Science & Management are going to organize “Photography Competition 2074” in the month of Magh 8 - 11, 2074 during the “Sports & Creative Week 2018” It is requested to all the students to fill the nomination form published in our Web/MIS and Social Sites OR Click Here

Venue Setup:

The Computer labs of Block A and Block B will be utilized during the competition.

 

About the Competition

The Competition will host two games, namely Counter Strike 1.6 and DOTA 2

 

Counter Strike 1.6

Competition Rules

 

  • Game Version: Counter-Strike 1.6

  • All the team players must be from the same Grade and Section.

  • A team can have maximum 6 players. 5 players will be playing the game a once and one player will remain as a substitute.

  • The competition will be in a knockout format and the tie-sheet will be published after the deadline of form.

  • Competition Method:  

    • Team 1  Vs  Team 2

    • (5 members per team)

 

  • Teams will have options to select Maps like de_dust2, de_nuke, de_inferno, de_mirage and de_train following the steps as mentioned below in the knockout rounds:

  • Coin Toss

    • The winner of the Coin Toss eliminates two Maps from the given choice.

    • The opponent eliminates one Map from the remaining choices.

    • The remaining Map is to be played in.

  • During the finals, the following steps will be followed for map selection:

  • Knife Round

    • The winner of the Knife round eliminates one map.

    • The other team eliminates another map.

    • The winner of the Knife round gets to select the first map to be played in.

    • The other team gets to select the second map to be played in.

    • For the third map, the winner of the Knife round will choose one of the two eliminated maps.

  • The Side selection will be done via a Knife Round at the beginning of the match.

  • Nickname in Game: Players will have to use the Nicknames as entered in the form during all the games. The nicknames cannot be changed once entered in the form. In case two nicknames coincide, the players will have to have their in-game name in the format :

 

  • Team Name:

The team’s names will have to be in the format:

           

 

  • Change of Players: Players can be changed at any time but the opposing team has to be informed in advance.

 

  • Client settings

All other client settings in the configuration files may be changed if they do not give to the player an unfair advantage comparable to a cheat. The use of an unfair CVAR setting comparable to a cheat will result in a sanction.

  • The following actions are authorized during a game:

 

    • Bunny hopping is allowed without script.

    • Silent run is allowed without script.

    • Using “+duck” behind a box is authorized.

 

  • These are strictly forbidden during a game:

 

    • Using pause is forbidden without the authorization of a tournament’s official (it can be used during the freeze time or the end of the round).

    • Any form of script is forbidden.

    • Using bugs which change the game principle (i.e. spawn bugs) is illegal.

    • Moving through walls, floors and roofs is strictly forbidden. This also includes sky walking.

    • "Silent bombs" (i.e. the planting of a bomb which doesn't make a sound) are illegal.

    • Planting bombs so that they cannot be defused is illegal. This does not include plants where multiple. Players are needed to defuse.

    • Defusing bomb through walls or roofs is strictly illegal.

    • Boosting with the help of team mates is allowed in general, but it is forbidden in places were the textures, walls, ceilings, floors become transparent or penetrable.

    • “Fire boost” (i.e. firing below a player to push him) is strictly illegal.

    • “Flash bugs” are forbidden.

    • Throwing flash grenades under walls is not allowed, throwing grenades over walls or roofs is allowed.

    • “Map swimming “or “Floating” is illegal.

    • “Pixel walking“ is illegal (Sitting or standing on invisible map edges)

    • Binding “+duck “to the mouse wheel is forbidden.

 

  • During an official match, players may not communicate with people not involved in the match even when there are pauses in the game. People involved in the match are the players of each team, the coach, and the tournament officials.

  • If a match is involuntary interrupted (player crash, server crash, network cuts …) the tournament officials may decide to replay the match according to the following rules:

 

    • If the problem took place before the end of the first round for a player still alive in-game, the whole half-time will be replayed.

    • If the problem took place before the end of the third round, the half-time will be continued with the number of remaining rounds, and the scores of the interrupted half-time will be added to the new half-time. The start money will be set to 800$ for each team.

    • If the problem took place after the end of the third round, the half-time will be continued with the number of remaining rounds, and the scores of the interrupted half-time will be added to the new half-time. The start money will be set to 5000$ for each team.

    • If one of the players crashed or is disconnected, he must come back as quickly as possible. A team may “pause” the game at the end of current round to allow the player to come back. A team can’t “pause” the game during the current round unless it has been expressly authorized by the tournament officials.

When a team estimates being a victim of rules violations during a match, players are compelled not to stop the game by any means and to properly finish it. Once the match is over, the team captain may officially ask for an investigation to tournament officials. It is strongly advised to provide valuable information that may help the tournament director in his investigation. Unjustified and repetitive use of this right may be sanctioned.

 

  • Players have options as in bringing their own Hardware (Mouse & Headphone)

  • In Case of tie :

    • 6 extra rounds will be played. (3 rounds as Terrorists / 3 rounds as Counter Terrorists per team).

    • Extra Round restart money: $10,000.

    • In the case of another tie after the 6 extra rounds, as stated above, 6 additional extra rounds will be played until the tie is broken.




 

  • Knockout Round

    • Rounds: The match will be played on a best of one format. Each Match will have 30 Rounds, where the Team will switch from Counter Terrorist to Terrorist after 15th Round.

    • Declaration: The winner of each Round will be decided on the basis of SCORE. In case the time limit is over the Counter Terrorist will be declared as the Winner. One of the Team needs to win at least 16 Round in order to declare them as Winner.

    • Overtime: In case there's a score of 15-15 after playing 30 Rounds, Six overtime Round will be played repeatedly unless a winner is declared

  • Final

    • Rounds: The match will be played on a best of three format. Each Match will have 30 Rounds, where the Team will switch from Counter Terrorist to Terrorist after 15th Round.

    • Declaration: The winner of each Round will be decided on the basis of SCORE. In case the time limit is over the Counter Terrorist will be declared as the Winner. One of the Team needs to win at least 16 Round in order to declare them as Winner. The team which will win 2 out of 3 games will be declared winner.

    • Overtime: In case there's a score of 15-15 after playing 30 Rounds, Six overtime Round will be played repeatedly unless a winner is declared.






 

DOTA 2

Competition Rules:

  • Collaboration: Students from two sections can collaborate with each other to form a team of 5 members. If more than two sections are found merged in one team, then the team will result in immediate disqualification. If any team member fails to attend the competition then the team may switch that member but the switched person will not be allowed to continue the tournament.

 

  • Registration: All the teams have to provide the organizers the following information upon registration:

    • Full name of all members.

    • Team name.

    • Steam accounts of all members.

    • Primary nicknames of all members.

    • Identity of the team captain. (All the teams must choose a captain. This person will be solely responsible for communication with the organizers during the tournament.)

  • Hardware: Players can bring their own hardware equipments like keyboard, mouse and headphones. The college however will not be responsible for the loss or damage of those goods.

  • A player cannot play for, or sign up for more than one team in the tournament.

  • Game mode: All the games throughout the tournament will be in Captains Mode.

  • If any data about the team needs to be changed, the captain of the team can request this towards the organizer. If any data of a specific team member needs to be changed, the participant or his captain can request this towards the organizers at any time.

  • The team must be ready to play at least 10 minutes before the match starts. Exceptions may occur if the opposing team is still in an ongoing match. If so, the match must be started as soon as the given team is ready.

  • Every team and participant has to try to win every game stage of the competition. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden and punishable.

  • Bugs: If any serious bugs occur, the game has to be paused immediately and the organizing committee decides how to continue.

  • Tools/Hacks: The usage of any DOTA-related tool aside from steam and DOTA 2 during a match is strictly forbidden.

  • Side Pick: Toss before the match will be done to finalize the side. The winner can either choose Radiant Side + First Pick OR Dire Side + Second Pick. 

  • After losing a Match, teams will be eliminated from the Bracket.

  • The finals will be played in the format; best of three. (None of the teams will have any advantages entering the finals - both teams are equal.)

  • Pausing: If a team needs to pause the game, the opposing team shall be notified before the pause is initiated. (Exception: If a player is disconnected, no notification is required). A team can only pause the match by a total of 10 minutes. If a team needs to pause the game for more than 10 minutes, an organizing member must be contacted immediately

  • If a team is not ready to start a game in time, the following punishments will be applied:

    • 10 minutes late – Level 1 Draft Penalty

    • 15 minutes late – Level 2 Draft Penalty

    • 20 minutes late – Level 3 Draft Penalty

    • 30 minutes late – Instant Disqualification

 

(Note: This does not apply if the other competing team is still in another game)
