Why Stable Government Is Necessary In Nepal?

Not a single government in Nepal has served out a full five-year term since, the restoration of democracy in 1990. This is due to the lack of majority support, coalition disputes, or political interference in Nepal. There is hardly a government that lasted for a year. As a result, the government could not completely perform its plan, project, and policies. An unstable government affects the works of the development projects as the priority of government changes based upon which political party is ruling the government. There is also a well-known trend that the development project and plan run by the earlier government is canceled out by the next government. This is due to lethal politics. The major political parties in Nepal play the blame game and pull down each other’s instead of supporting them for good work. So, there is a lack of proper integration and beliefs between the political parties due to the reason when one party is ruling the government, the opposition party always opposes the government no matter whether the government is doing good or evil works. Then why does Nepal need a stable government? In conclusion, a stable government creates an environment of predictability, consistency, and continuity that is conducive to progress in various aspects of society. It leads to the development of the nation and ensures the well-being of its citizens. By: Rijesh Rai (Management, A2)

Family Ties

Life is an unpredictable journey, often presenting us with unexpected challenges that show who truly matters in this life for us. Family ties weave a story of unity, resilience, and selfless sacrifice. Recently, a significant incident unfolded in my life, serving as a powerful example of the extraordinary strength that family ties can provide, especially in the face of unexpected challenges.  As the night immersed us in its pitch black, the echoes of our laughter during the educational excursion still lingered. After a delightful tea break with my friends, I was on my way to drop off my friend to his home along a familiar service road. However, this seemingly mundane drive would unexpectedly transform into a life-changing experience. As I was navigating through a seemingly empty road, the sudden appearance of an individual in my bike’s path was a harsh reminder of life’s unpredictable nature. Despite all precautions, the collision occurred, forcing us to confront the harsh reality of the situation. As the repercussions of the accident unfolded, my father was my hero. As soon as I reached the hospital with the patient, he was already there. I had my injuries attended to swiftly, and my statements were recorded by the officer after a while my dad told me to go home, but he stayed there in the hospital till midnight. The scale of this accident wasn’t minor, the guy had 6 fractures, one being so significant that his knee’s bone was being seen out of his skin. In the following days, He would have 5 operations with a steel rod kept inside his knee. He was admitted to the hospital for almost a month and now, is attending physiotherapy sessions practically every day. Despite the severity of the accident, I had no contact with any of the affairs of this accident except for that very day. It was my dad who took this responsibility upon himself to delve into the affair. He was making regular visits to the hospital, providing them with all essentials, and also going back and forth to police stations. In times of distress, the family transcends its role as a mere support system and becomes a sanctuary of understanding and love. My whole family, despite the state I put them in, created an environment where my concerns and well-being were prioritized over any potential turmoil. Their actions demonstrated that familial ties are not just a bond, but a source of unwavering support that can weather any storm. Even though I caused a serious problem that deeply affected my family, my father never complained. Instead, he stood by me as a constant source of strength and support during a difficult time. His unwavering love and dedication exemplified the true meaning of being a selfless parent. This accident for me kept the emphasis on the importance of recognizing and appreciating the often unnoticed efforts that parents put forth, sacrificing their time, energy, and personal desires for the happiness and prosperity of their children.  Reflecting on the incident that occurred in my life, I’m struck by the incredible strength embedded in family bonds. The sacrifices my parents made during that tough period stand as a powerful testament to the profound love within our family and the lengths parents go to ensure the well-being of their children. In life’s intricate tapestry, the sacrifices made by family members act as golden threads, not only binding us together but also lighting the way toward resilience, unity, and lasting happiness. The incident, unfolding on a darkened service road, serves as a clear example of the unwavering support that family offers, especially during unexpected and challenging moments. Significance Of Space Exploration

Firstly, asteroid mining is a new possibility that has emerged for humans in this modern era. Asteroids are solid masses containing different minerals that revolve around the solar system. They contain valuable minerals such as gold, platinum, and titanium, which can be worth trillions of dollars. If we are able to mine such asteroids, it will benefit not only humans but also Mother Earth. Similarly, outer space is a vast expanse that is hard to imagine. The fastest man-made object travels at a speed of 180,000 kilometers per second, which may seem fast but is very slow compared to the enormous space. Astrophysicists estimate that it will take around 8,000 years for us to reach the nearest star, Proxima Centauri, at this speed. Space exploration can help us develop new technologies that enable faster travel. Also, while our Mother Earth has been kind to us, species have thrived in it. In the past few million years, there have been five mass extinctions on Earth, with the extinction of dinosaurs being the most well-known. We cannot say that the mass extinction of humans will not occur. Space exploration helps researchers find ways to evacuate humans from Earth during times of catastrophe, ensuring the continuation of our civilization in the universe. Many people raise the topic that there are more pressing problems on Earth, such as poverty, or argue that space missions are pointless and expensive. However, many of the things we use today are a result of space exploration. For instance, the small and compact camera in your smartphone was invented for NASA’s space program. We use scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass, which was developed for astronauts’ space suits. The invention of water filtration, which we use in our daily lives, was driven by the expensive cost of sending water into space for astronauts. As of now, we understand the significance and advantages of space exploration. Have humans taken any steps to explore the enormously large space with infinite possibilities? Yes, there have been many successful space programs by different space organizations. NASA, a US government-funded space organization, has sent humans to the moon and launched powerful telescopes into outer space for detailed views of our universe and celestial bodies such as black holes, dwarf stars, neutron stars, and exoplanets. They have also discovered many Earth-like habitable planets. Recently, they launched the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), which provides even clearer and higher-resolution pictures of different galaxies. Similarly, SpaceX, a private space and research company, has succeeded in making reusable rockets, which can reduce the cost of exploration. Lastly, we have ISRO, an Indian government-funded space and research organization, which has successfully traveled to different planets and landed rovers or satellites for research on Mars and the Moon. These missions help us understand their atmospheric compositions and the possibility of life. There are many other planned future space programs as well. In a nutshell, space exploration has become significant for our daily lives and the future of human civilization. Space holds enormous possibilities, and as human beings, we explore it not because we have to, but because we see the benefits in it. Space exploration will only increase and make our lives easier in the future. Therefore, we should support it, recognizing its significance and importance in our lives. Nepali Subject Not For Newar: A Real Experience

Commencing my M.A. studies marked the end of a five-year hiatus from academia. Before this, my educational journey had been consistent up to the attainment of my bachelor’s degree. Upon venturing into Kathmandu for further academic pursuit, I found myself engulfed by the bustling urban landscape for an extended period. Nevertheless, my ardor for learning remained unwavering. Thus, five years later, I embarked on my master’s degree program in Nepali studies, braving myriad challenges. As I stepped into the M.A. classroom, a sense of emptiness engulfed me; the majority of the subject matter had faded from memory, leaving me only with a certificate but devoid of substantial knowledge. It dawned upon me that a mere certificate is incapable of preserving knowledge or assessing human worth. Despite our relentless pursuit of accolades for academic excellence, I found myself unable to accurately transcribe the teachings delivered by the instructor during lectures. On one occasion, a teacher caught sight of my deficient notes and, with a wry smile, proceeded to read them aloud to the class. Laughter ensued among my peers, mirroring my inability to contain tears. Subsequently, the instructor advised against pursuing further studies in the subject. Following that disheartening incident, my subsequent actions remain undisclosed. However, I am inclined to recount another noteworthy occurrence related to the subject matter: during a picnic at ‘Changunarayan’, Bhaktapur, amidst the break between internal evaluation exams, a query resounded from the teacher who had dissuaded me from Nepali studies, “Who bears the roll number forty-four?” Stepping forward from the crowd, I claimed the aforementioned number, leaving him dumbfounded. After a prolonged moment of disbelief, he verified my roll number once more, to which I presented my identity card. His reaction was one of speechless astonishment. Having exerted myself to the utmost, his response neither praised nor condemned my efforts. The following day, amidst the classroom setting, the instructor announced the exam results, extending congratulations for achieving the highest marks. Tears welled up in my eyes for the second time: once from humiliation, and now from acknowledgment. Surpassing classmates who held double degrees or topped their respective colleges during their bachelor’s studies, I emerged as the highest achiever in the class. Subsequent exam results further validated my academic prowess, securing the top position in the college. Concurrently pursuing a master’s degree while employed in the hotel industry posed a stark dichotomy between my professional obligations and academic pursuits, given the technical nature of my workplace environment. Despite returning home exhausted each night, I maintained a disciplined routine of attending college with my bag in tow, underscoring my unwavering commitment to education. Moreover, my passion for learning transcended mere vocational pursuits. Capitalizing on downtime during commutes, I recorded lectures on my mobile device, leveraging public transit journeys to review course materials. Financial constraints were not a hindrance, allowing me to procure an extensive array of reference materials and meticulously compile my notes, distinct from those provided by instructors. With two days off per week, including Saturdays, I dedicated my leisure time exclusively to intensive studying, eschewing recreational activities in favor of academic enrichment. Engaging in critical analysis of texts, I synthesized information from diverse sources, fostering a deep understanding of the subject matter. Collaborative study sessions with peers facilitated long-term retention and comprehension. Thus, armed with meticulously crafted study aids and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, I excelled in my examinations. Subsequently, I transitioned into an instructional role within the same college where I completed my master’s degree. Remarkably, the very instructor who had once disparaged my academic pursuits now found himself among the faculty. Despite harboring no inclination to retaliate verbally, the passage of time had unequivocally vindicated my academic capabilities. Nevertheless, societal prejudices persisted, as evidenced by a disheartening encounter during a visit to a friend’s private school in Balaju. Introducing me as a distinction holder in Nepali studies and a prospective Ph.D. candidate in the same field, my friend’s enthusiasm was met with reluctance from a parent, who opined that individuals from the Newar community ought to pursue careers in engineering or medicine. According to him, the study of Nepali language and literature was incongruous with the societal expectations imposed upon Newars, thereby diminishing any academic achievements, including a Ph.D. degree, in this field. Despite his apparent education and sophistication, he epitomized the entrenched societal stereotypes that persist despite constitutional prohibitions. In conclusion, the insidious influence of societal biases continues to pervade educational and professional spheres, perpetuating divisions based on caste and profession. Despite constitutional mandates to the contrary, these prejudices endure, underscoring the imperative for concerted efforts to dismantle systemic barriers and foster inclusive academic and professional environments. High School Nostalgia

The first day of high school, the day I upgraded my life,  Grey uniform and a pair of shoes in front of my eyes,  And then carrying a school bag which was twice my size.  This is how I stepped into my high school, it’s really horrible to describe. Despite the lengthy books with barbarous pages,  And the times I raged after seeing the puzzling math formulas,  The school days I missed, pretending my sickness,  Along with the nights I spent completing the projects that were endless. Well, these were the best moments I ever lived,  It’s hard to abandon them now, as it’s now my time to leave.  Leaving the school, with all the memories treasured within me,  My high school and the life here, forever grateful I will be.

E-Commerce Strategies For The Attraction Of New Customers

E-commerce! Who does not know about e-commerce? Yeah, I agree, in the past only a few people had knowledge about e-commerce but now in the present generation, the tables have turned and only a few people do not know about e-commerce, it would be as the buying and selling of goods, products or service over the internet. Similarly, the transaction of money and funds is also considered as e-commerce. Concerning the topic, the strategies of e-commerce for attracting new customers are Website design, social media marketing, paid advertisement, loyalty program and data analysis, and global expansion. The first impression of e-commerce websites is crucial for businesses investing in user-friendly, responsive, visually appealing websites. The seamless and efficient website not only attracts customers but also helps to engage in the work. Similarly, with more than a billion users of social media, businesses enable the channels to promote their brand by targeting ad campaigns, and fund campaigns to attract new customers. If the website design is appealing, customers will believe that the website is legit and will not hesitate to buy the products. PPC (pay-per-click) advertising is also helping to attract customers from Google ads, Facebook, and Instagram which enable a wider audience. Many e-commerce businesses employ a loyalty program, offering discounts to their first buyer which encourages the long-term buying to the goods from the same seller. Data analysis has also been proven a good strategy to attract new customers as they analyze the information about the person’s interest and recommend those things that they are interested in by which they are forced to buy the good. Global expansion of e-commerce is also a crucial point as the local culture will be spread overall. Many e-commerce businesses are also recruiting social media influencers like YouTubers to promote their brand. For example, take a famous YouTuber who has millions of subscribers. People usually like to watch their videos and if in the middle of watching the video, they introduce us to a product we will take some time to listen about the product and we may also like it if we buy that product the e-commerce will grow as well as the business. The following were some of the strategies to attract more new customers but in all terms of business of business, there are many ways to increase the successive rate and growth of the business or e-commerce. If the commerce service provides a well-functioning product to the customer, then there can be a 360-degree turn to increase the growth of certain e-commerce businesses. That would be a win-win situation for both the e-commerce business and the people. One thing is surely true that e-commerce has truly been proven a very good and easy for the busy schedule in one people’s life. By: Samikshya Maharjan (Science, F1)

Navigating The Complexities Of Technology:  Impact On Human Relationships

This is the era of science and technology. Everyone’s lives are comparatively much easier with the invention and further development of technologies and modern gadgets. With the widespread modernization of technology, many fields have been influenced and impacted by it. Technologies like projection have positively impacted the field of education, helping in productive and comprehensive learning. However, in the same field, technology is making children less attentive, addicted to games, or scrolling through social media. All in all, creative individuals only pretend to do all their homework, which is presented to them with the touch of a finger. Nowadays, technologies have become something human beings are not able to survive without. Some people’s daily dose of socialization lies with the devices themselves. With the connection to the internet and the earth becoming a common home for all of us, globalization has started to flourish. Many media apps such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and many more have taken away real or face-to-face socialization and replaced it with virtual socialization. This impact has proved to have both negative and positive aspects. On the one hand, it strengthens the global bond between many countries and their people. Communication with family, relatives, and friends living abroad is relatively easier. In the case of a nation requiring aid, countries can provide necessary help immediately. The friend circle of a person expands, and they make foreign friends. They start to know more about cultural diversity and learn to be tolerant or accepting of a variety of cultures that exist in our common homeland. Moreover, learning about the political or economic state of a country is also possible. Technology has made people grow closer together, especially when they have a set of common interests or opinions. The knives, traditions, values, and norms are all spreading around the world, and people are becoming accepting of them. This also helps to better the relationship between people if there is no discrimination or conflict regarding different beliefs, views, religions, cultures, and so on. Moving forward towards the negative aspect of technology on human relationships, there is a lack of secrecy between countries and individuals. Any plans or decisions that a country makes are broadcasted on various websites, easily accessible by other countries. Moreover, individuals who are involved in social media also have no secrecy as the app tends to show the location, and some stalkers or overly obsessed people can access such locations. With technology, along with cyberbullying, depression, and other mental health issues, mentally ill people spend most of their time browsing and interacting with news or comments from people, which can make these people frustrated and enraged. This is why they end up venting on the web. When the frustration of a person reaches its limit, they tend to end their own lives, bringing nothing but sad news and a gloomy environment to their family. The negative use of technology puts human relationships in a tight spot, worsening their bond with one another. When used properly, technology can make connecting with another person anywhere in the world much easier. However, this leads to depression, and the misuse of technology invites sadness into human relationships. Connecting with people from different parts of the world, sharing knowledge, and excitement also helps us relax when we share our problems and have a good laugh with them. So, in my opinion, although technology has impacted human relationships in both a positive and negative manner, technology still serves as a boon in today’s world as it has helped connect millions and likely saved countless lives as well. Red String: Fate Of Love

We all are looking for the destined one for us but what if we are already bound with a person with a red string? For a long time, humans have wondered about life’s meaning, which has given rise to various philosophical teachings and enchanting legends. And among many legends, the tale of red strings is one of them. Have you ever thought, “This person has entered my life for a reason?” Quite possibly, you may be right. It might be the case that fate has already guided you to the point where you can bring changes into the lives you to the point where you can bring changes into the lives of others. Imagine, closing your eyes and your body grows transparent, can you picture those endless complex networks of blood vessels connecting all the parts of the body? We owe our existence to these life-giving rivers. Now, take note of these special systems, the one that connects the heart with your pinky finger. Maybe that’s the reason when people make a swear or vow, they do it by crossing their pinkies in many cultures. But, according to this legend of red string, this thread coming from our heart does not end at the tip of the finger but flows as an invisible red thread to intertwine with the red thread of other people connecting your heart with theirs. The myth is similar to the concept of a soulmate or a destined partner. The bond of unspoken love, trust, and hope. It would be so great to know that there is someone just for you, someone who belongs to you, someone who you are destined with, and to know that there is someone to love and support you at any cost, some you should not search for, someone that destiny will bring you together with. It’s just like a fairy tale that many of us would like to live in.  Wouldn’t it be easy if we knew that we were already connected with someone, someone whom we can spend our whole lifetime and someone whom we can share our sorrow and happiness with? There is a different kind of feeling, knowing that you won’t always be alone. According to Chinese legend, the deity in charge of “the red thread” is believed to be Yue Xia Laoren. Maybe that is why in most Chinese weddings, the color red is given great value. The color red in Chinese culture symbolizes happiness and it is mostly featured in Chinese weddings. The connection is not only limited to romance because people connected by the red string of fate may share a short interval of time or it can also be someone you are fated to have a deep connection to. It is believed that, when someone’s born, there is a red thread that is tied to them, an invisible red thread that connects them to the people they are destined to meet and be connected to in their lives. In thinking, what if someone can see the red string, what if he/she can see who we are connected with would that person tell us?  What would we be at that person’s place? What would you do? From my view, I would tell them but I am so sure that many people will not believe it and when thinking about this legend it may be real or just an imagination but when thinking I can never stop my mind, I can never put this topic inside, and when thinking I always end up with many questions with “What if?” I get questions like, what if I am connected with someone? Do I know that person? What kind of person will he be? Will that person be just like me or the opposite of me? There are many questions like this. I strongly believe in this theory. I believe that red string is a magical cord that may stretch or tangle, but it can never break. It will always connect two people, maybe best friends or total strangers. The two people connected by the red thread are destined to be together, regardless of time, place, or any kind of circumstances. By: Shasika Praja (Science, C1)

Unveiling the power of mewing: unlocking the facial potential and aesthetics

Hey there! Have you ever heard of something super cool called mewing? It’s not a magic spell or a high-tech gadget; it’s a simple trick that might change your face and life! So what’s all the buzz about? Mewing is like a facial workout that doesn’t involve sweating or lifting weights. Instead, it’s about how you position your tongue in your mouth. Sounds weird, right? Here’s the deal: it’s all about putting your tongue on the roof of your mouth, keeping your lips together, and teeth lightly touching. But wait, why bother? Well, mewing isn’t just about looking good. It’s about making your face grow in the best way possible, especially when you’re young. They say it helps to straighten teeth, shape your jawline, define your cheekbones, adjust the nose without the need for surgeries and expensive orthodontics, and even make breathing easier, possibly reducing snoring and sleep apnea. How? Pushing the maxilla bone forward, it’s believed to widen your airways. Crazy, right? So, how does this simple tongue posture work such wonders? Well, inside your skull, there are things called sutures, kind of like cracks that help bones grow evenly as kids mature. And guess what? One of your sutures is on the roof of your mouth. Applying consistent tongue pressure on this area is thought to encourage facial bone growth, somewhat like using a device to expand the bone. But here’s the thing: it’s not a quick fix. You won’t wake up tomorrow with a superhero jawline. Mewing needs patience and doing it every day, like brushing your teeth. It’s a slow and steady process but worth it. Mewing is like a superhero power you have inside you. It’s not about changing to fit, but about discovering your awesome potential. It’s like giving yourself a secret boost that only you know about. In a world where everyone wants things super-fast, mewing is a reminder that good things take time. Enter orthotropic, a theory that merges “ortho” for “straight” and “tropos” for “growth”. This concept was born from a family legacy steeped in facial development. Dr. Mike Mew, a current expert in orthotropics and an innovator of mewing, traces this knowledge back to his grandfather, a practitioner using expansion devices in the 20th century. Dr. John Mew, father of Mike Mew and inventor of Mewing, stumbled upon his father’s records after his passing. These records proved that facial bone growth in individuals was indeed possible without resorting to surgery, a groundbreaking revelation that laid the foundation for mewing. Building upon the strength of ancestral wisdom, Dr. Mike Mew stands today as a torchbearer continuing holistic facial development. Decades of research, dedication, and innovation have culminated in the practice known as mewing. Now let’s dive deeper into the mewing techniques and facts. Dr. Mike Mew shares a crucial exercise to ensure you’re mewing correctly. He emphasizes creating a vacuum in your mouth by sucking out saliva and gently pressing your tongue without applying too much pressure. It’s not about pushing your tongue forcefully; it’s about maintaining a suction hold. Mewing isn’t just about sticking your tongue to the roof of your mouth. It’s a set of exercises and habits. It involves techniques like lip taping, eating with lips closed, maintaining your posture, and even changing your breathing patterns. All these small habits can contribute to a larger facial transformation. Ever felt sutures in your bone? Those cracks play a role. Some sutures don’t fuse until later in life, allowing bone growth in adulthood. So, whether you want a sharper jawline or want to feel better in your skin, mewing might be your thing. So, why not give it a shot and unlock your superpower with mewing? By: Ridesh Bhujel (Science, M1)

Addressing Brain Drain: Challenges and Solutions

“Brain drain” is a term used to describe the emigration of individuals, often referring to the migration of skilled workers from one country to another. While one country experiences a “brain gain” with the influx of skilled migrants, the other undergoes a “brain drain.” This phenomenon occurs due to various factors, both pushing and pulling. Push factors may include lack of employment opportunities, job insecurity, inadequate earning potential, and limited access to education. On the other hand, pull factors may involve the promise of better solutions to these problems, leading to a brighter future and improved security for individuals and their families. Brain drain can result in several problems for the nation from which people are migrating, including a shortage of skilled human resources for development, reduced tax revenue collection, insufficient infrastructure development, and an overreliance on an aging population, particularly among women and children who depend on them. The problem of brain drain is particularly prevalent in developing countries like Nepal, where there is a lack of proper employment opportunities for the growing population. Over the decades, many Nepalese people have migrated to foreign countries in search of better job prospects. These migrants can be categorized into two groups: students seeking higher education abroad and unskilled workers, often middle-aged men, seeking employment in Gulf countries to support their families. While highly educated individuals seek opportunities abroad to interact with intellectuals from around the world, unskilled workers often engage in manual labor to improve their financial status. However, the push and pull factors driving brain drain are not solely economic; political instability in Nepal is another major contributing factor. Frequent changes in government leadership lead to the rapid alteration of plans and policies, hindering effective execution and development initiatives. As a result, many Nepali villages are populated mainly by elderly individuals and women, as the working-age population seeks opportunities abroad. This trend has significant social and economic consequences, including increased vulnerability for families left behind and a loss of traditional agricultural practices. The government must address these challenges promptly by creating employment opportunities, promoting agricultural and animal husbandry industries, fostering interest in traditional agriculture, and updating educational curricula to align with global standards. In conclusion, brain drain poses a significant challenge for Nepal, exacerbated by political instability and limited economic opportunities. To mitigate its impact and encourage skilled individuals to contribute to the nation’s development, concerted efforts are needed from both government and society. By: Prasanna Shahi (Science, C1)
